B.Sc Nautical Science

Three year B.Sc. Nautical Science course is approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping (Government of India). It is a course leading to Second Mate's Foreign-Going Certificate of Competency awarded by the D.G. Shipping after 12 months of Sea Service, Enabling the cadets to become Navigating officers on board Merchant Navy Ships worldwide. This course is strictly residential. All candidates applying for B.Sc Nautical Science Course also need to appear for a COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (CET) conducted by the INDIAN MARITIME UNIVERSITY (IMU). ELIGIBILITY Criteria
Educational qualifications :

Pass in 10+2 (or) equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as Separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60%.

Minimum of 50% marks in English language at 10th or 12th standard.

Age limit :

Maximum 25 years of age as on 1st of January or 1st of August.

Medical & Physical Standards :

Medically fit as per the standards set by M. S. Medical Examination Rules, 2000.

Eyesight/Vision :

Candidates have to Qualify a full eyesight test conducted by the Mercantile Marine Department before being finally selected for the course. They should have 6/6 in each eye without visual aids and should be free from colour blindness.

Course fees :

For Male candidates: Rs 2,20,000 Per year .

For Female Candidates: Rs 1,40,500 Per year.
